Adaptogenic Herbs for Chronic Stress

We have been thinking a lot about supporting ourselves right now because most of us are in some form of under-stress with the uncertainty of these times. I was reading an article by a psychologist who said that stress and uncertainty equal anxiety, this really resonated with me. If I were to define the best adaptogenic herb, Withania Ashwagandha would be the herb of choice. it has anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties and helps you adapt to stress. In males, it helps to balance testosterone and in females, it helps with hormone balance. Our high-quality tincture with Ashwagandha is a 1;2 ratio where in other cases it is made with a 1:4 ratio so you are getting a higher concentration with each dose

Here are some of my tricks to combat stress:

From a naturopathic perspective, we have a lot of wonderful herbs that in my view, should be an essential part of everyone’s healthcare. Tinctures are a great way to support yourself because they are so closely related to that natural food we eat but have a much higher concentration of active ingredients, They can easily be added to smoothies or my personal favorite, and end of the day tonic.

So a recipe for an evening elixir could be as simple as taking carbonated water, flavored water drops, and a teaspoon of the ashwagandha mix. You can also add powdered magnesium for the extra benefit. When it is incorporated this way it doesn’t feel like we are taking medicine, but you will get the effects that will keep you more resilient over time to stressors.
