Not Just A Facial

How A Facial Can Support Your Vagus Nerve / Parasympathetic Nervous System

The Mindfulness Facial

Overall a facial is a very calming experience. We have developed our own protocol using the naturally relaxing aspects of a facial to get our clients to enter into a deep calming state. This is very important for the healing process in general. We find that those dealing with a chronic health condition, long-term stress, depression or anxiety often have a difficult time deeply relaxing in the beginning of treatment. A facial may be a good treatment to help ground ourselves and begin the process of learning how to relax and self-regulate. We feel that the facial aspect is well-deserved positive feedback to encourage further calming practices.

The face and neck are strongly connected to the vagus nerve / parasympathetic nervous system. Supporting the vagus nerve can help shift our nervous system into a relaxation phase. We suspect that natural endorphins are also released during the process of a facial.

In addition to the facial treatment, the elapromed device applies a low electrical pulses applied over the face which may help stimulate the parasympathetic. This is monitored by heart rate sensory and biofeedback equipment. During the treatment, we get clients to breathe and listen to music to further enhance the effects.

Over the course of four treatments, we guide our clients to engage in home treatments like breathing exercises and neurofeedback guided meditation.

Skin Health Benefits

The elapromed system is designed as a skin rejuvenation system. As a facial, elapromed treatments naturally support skin hydration, collagen formation, and support healing from acne.

Elapromed utilizes electronic micro-impulses which encourage the skin to absorb up to 70ml of our natural corrective nutritive formulations directly into the skin. The process acts like an electric syringe allowing our technician to provide a calming sensory stimulation over the face and neck while deeply hydrating the skin.
